When ABC premiered Twin Peaks in 1990, the show cemented director David Lynch‘s place in television history. Critics lauded the bizarre murder mystery series, including Time magazine, who called it “the most hauntingly original work ever done for American TV.” In conjunction with their Films of David Lynch series, the Hollywood Theater will present a full weekend of the cult hit with a Twin Peaks Party and marathon.
The festivities begin on March 20th at 7:30 p.m. with a screening of the first season pilot, plus $1 “damn good” coffee and $1 doughnuts. The first season marathon will continue on March 21st at 7 p.m. (Episodes 2-8), followed by the second season on March 22nd from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Season 2, Episodes 1-5) and March 23rd from 10:30 a.m. to midnight (Season 2, Episodes 6-22).
On March 22nd, DJ Zombo will host an event full of Lynchian activities, including a costume contest and prize raffle, a cherry stem tying contest, and a concert by the group Silencio, the internationally renowned group known for their Lynch-influenced music. The theater will also provide thematically appropriate refreshments such as cherry pie and PBR.
Tickets for the marathon are $20 and are available at Showclix. The Twin Peaks Party on March 22nd begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door and are available for purchase at Showclix.
