Hollywood Theater Saves The Date For ‘Breakup at a Wedding’

Last April, CMU hosted a screening of the independent film Breakup at a Wedding. The co-production of university alumni Zachary Quinto (Heroes, Star Trek), Corey Moosa, Neal Dodson, and Victor Quinaz will return to Pittsburgh on March 10th for another showing at the Hollywood Theater.

Directed by Quinaz – who co-wrote the scrip with his wife, Anna Martemucci, and brother, Phillip Quinaz – the film follows an unduly ambitious wedding videographer (Victor Quinaz) during the nuptials of Alison Jones (Alison Fyhrie) and Phil Havemeyer (Philip Quinaz). On the eve of their wedding, Alison gets cold feet and decides to break up with her fiancé Phil. But rather than face the embarrassment of calling off the ceremony, Alison suggests to Phil that they proceed with a sham wedding. Phil is more than game to try, secretly hoping that a surprise gift he has for Alison will ultimately change her mind. Yet once the guests begin to arrive, more complications ensue than either of them could have ever imagined. From the arrival at the hotel that hosts the affair, to the hung-over Sunday morning brunch, the intrepid videographer, aided by his hapless assistant, captures every detail, even (and especially) the private moments. The PERIODS. Films production – which was acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories last year – was co-produced by Quinto, Moosa, and Dodson’s company Before The Door Pictures (Margin Call, All Is Lost) and Anonymous Content (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Winter’s Bone).

Breakup at a Wedding begins at 7:30 p.m. A Q&A with Martemucci – who is also a participant on the reality TV series The Chair and Philip Quinaz will follow the screening. Tickets are $5.
