CMU Hosts Special Presentation Of Trans-Q Television

Trans-Q Television (TQTV), a project of the Center for Arts in Society, is a playful and provocative Pittsburgh-based online video series that explores gender expression, sexuality, desire, and ecstatic acts of being. Described as a “Dadaist Variety Show for the 21st Century,” they collaborate with a wide range of talent to create a twisted mix of Sonny and Cher, The Muppet Show, Andy Warhol’s TV, Ernie Kovacs, Flip Wilson and Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. On Feb. 11th, CMU‘s Frank-Ratchye Studio for Creative Inquiry will host a special night of TQTV.

TQTV creator/producer Suzie Silver and fellow producer Scott Andrew will present a frisky account of the series and screen highlights from upcoming episodes. Among the featured acts are Vaginal Davis, SSION, Narcissister, Maria Denolt, and Shana Moulton/ Nick Hallett.

The show begins at 4:30 p.m. in the STUDIO main space (CFA 111).
