Rural Route Film Festival To Bring Shorts Program To Hollywood Theater

Since 2002, the Rural Route Film Festival has worked to highlight topical films that deal with unique people and places outside the bustle of urban life. In order to expose these works to the world, the New York City-based event travels to other communities through its touring program – on Jan. 12th, the festival will stop at the Hollywood Theater to showcase 11 exceptional shorts.

For its Pittsburgh date, the festival will feature a number of films representing various genres, including animation, narrative, documentary, and archival footage. Whether it’s a story about Native American demo derby drivers, or an intimate look at baby animals in their nests, the Best Of Shorts schedule offers a little something for everybody. See film descriptions below:

The Rural Route Film Festival screens at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is $7.
