Local Filmmaker Pits Cyclists Against Aliens In ‘She-Devils PGH’

Throughout movie history, audiences watched as aliens attacked New York, Los Angeles, London, and many other cities. But what if extraterrestrials invaded Pittsburgh? To answer that question, one local filmmaker put a badass twist on an old idea.

Punk cyclists come to the city’s defense in She-Devils PGH, a “camp-tastic, genre-defying caper” with a regional flavor. Written and directed by Sarah Chamizo, the short film focuses on the She-Devils, an all-female bicycle gang that cruises the Pittsburgh streets regulating the safety of their fellow female riders. What seems like a normal day takes a strange turn when the ladies witness a rogue car weaving along the road. They soon discover the vehicle is inhabited by alien lifeforms and must band together to stop the other worldly threat.

Chamizo has launched a Kickstarter page to raise funds for the project’s completion and provide back pay to her cast and crew members. Donations will be accepted through August 31st.
