Before Midnight – Harris Theater


The third chapter in director Richard Linklater‘s Before series follows Jesse (Ethan Hawke) and Celine (Julie Delpy), who first met on a Eurail train and experienced 14 hours of deep connection as they explored Vienna. Nine years later, Celine found Jesse at a Paris book store, the last stop on his book tour. They had one day together before he was meant to fly out that night. Now, we meet up with the two off-and-on lovers nine years later, in Greece. Before Midnight opens on August 2nd at the Harris Theater.

Blue Jasmine – Manor Theatre


After everything in her life falls to pieces, including her marriage to wealthy businessman Hal (Alec Baldwin), elegant New York socialite Jasmine (Cate Blanchett) moves into her sister Ginger’s (Sally Hawkins) modest apartment in San Francisco to try to pull herself back together again. Written and directed by Woody Allen, the film also features performances by Louis C.K., Bobby Cannavale, and Andrew Dice Clay. Blue Jasmine opens at the the Manor Theatre on August 23rd.

The Canyons – Hollywood Theater


Director Paul Schrader crafted this highly anticipated L.A. noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition. Based on a script by writer Bret Easton Ellis, the story follows Christian (porn star James Deen), a young trust-funder who’s financing a horror film, and his girlfriend Tara (Lindsay Lohan), an aspiring actress/model. When Christian finds out that Tara is having an affair with an old fling, their already stale relationship takes a dangerous turn into deceit, paranoia, cruel mind games, and bloody violence. The Canyons runs from August 23rd to August 25th at the Hollywood Theater.
