Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini Visits Hollywood Theater For ‘The Good Son’

On June 20th, Hollywood Theater will welcome former world lightweight boxing champ Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini  for a screening of The Good Son, a documentary about his life.

Mancini was one of the most famous sports figure in America, a man who captivated the public with a remarkable personal tale. But everything changed on November 13, 1982, in the 26th bout of his career, against a challenger from South Korea named Duk Koo Kim. Thirty years after that tragic fight, critically-acclaimed bestselling author Mark Kriegel revisits the life of Mancini in the highly-anticipated biographical film, timed to the release of the book of the same title. Featuring appearances by every major character in the story, as well as famous longtime Mancini friends Mickey Rourke, Ed O’Neill, and others, The Good Son promises to reveal new, never-before-seen details and developments in the stories of both Mancini and Kim.

The Good Son begins at 7:30 p.m. This showing will take place before the film’s official release. Mancini will be on hand for interviews and photo ops prior to the screening at 7 p.m. and will participate in a post screening Q&A at 9 p.m. Tickets are $7 and are available for purchase at Gathr Films.
