The Monroeville Mall is familiar to horror fans as the setting for George Romero‘s classic film, Dawn of the Dead, so it stood to reason that the Monroeville Zombies museum would make its home there. However, after five years of honoring Pittsburgh’s undead past with displays, interactive exhibits, and unique gifts and events, the establishment will shuffle out of its historic location for good. But don’t fret – they plan to continue their mission at a “yet unannounced location.” Until then, help them leave their old space with a final zombie-themed bash!
On April 27th – its last day at the mall – Monroeville Zombies hosts Zom-B-Rama III: That’s M’all Folks, a fun-filled day of music, dancing, and memories. MC Barnabas Bailey will introduce the events, conduct interviews, and immortalize the occasion by recording a web show, which will be aired at a later date. Guests can compete in zombie versions of famous game shows, including Let’s Make a Deal, The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game, Family Feud, and Pyramid, all hosted by Zomty Maul. In addition, DJ Madame DeVillain will spin tunes for your listening pleasure, and help you get into the groove for the Michael Jackson‘s Thriller Group Dance!
Zom-B-Rama III begins at 2 p.m., and ends with a Zombie Parade and Farewell Ceremony at 8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The online store will remain open for business during the transition.
