Banff Mountain Film Festival Brings the Great Outdoors to Pittsburgh

Each year, over 300 films  – from 5-minute shorts to feature-length works – are entered into the Banff Mountain Film Competition. Afterwards, a selection of the top films go on a tour around the world, reaching over 245,000 audience members through more than 635 screenings in 350 locations in 32 countries.  On April 6th and 7th, Banff visits Pittsburgh to showcase some of their best outdoor adventure filmmaking.

Over the course of the two-day event, Venture Outdoors will present 16 films at the Byham Theater, covering everything from mountain climbing to trail biking to kayaking, and much more.  See schedule of films below:

Films begin screening at 7 p.m. on April 6th and 5 p.m. on April 7th.  Ticket prices range from $24 to $15 and are available for purchase at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust website. As part of the event, Venture Outdoors and Bike Pittsburgh will offer a special complimentary Bike Valet service on both nights. Bikes will be placed in the Byham’s VIP room, and all bicyclists will receive one free beer and snacks at a pre-show gathering.
