Film festivals have many themes, but in Pittsburgh, a new event will put the city’s living dead history front and center.
Confluence Productions, a Pittsburgh-based film company, is launching their first annual Zombie Shorts Film Festival at the Hollywood Theater. The festival will showcase a series of locally made short films that feature a zombie element and have a running time of ten minutes or less. The winner is determined by an audience vote, and will receive a cash prize, as well as a spot at the Eerie Horror Film Festival. As a bonus, professional make-up artists will also be on hand to transform the lucky audience judges into a mob of rancid, flesh-eating undead only a disturbed mother could love.
The Zombie Shorts Film Festival begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5th. Attendees must be present for all film screenings in order to vote.
